Is this the smallest public cinema in the country? Staff at the Old Fighting Cocks in Telford, Shropshire, seem to think so.

They have transformed an unused function room at the Everards pub into a 32 seat cinema with a five metre digital screen.

It also boasts cinema ushers who are happy to provide pints and pub snacks during intervals.

Licensee David Goldingay said: "Going to the cinema can be extremely expensive and so I liked the idea of incorporating one into the pub and offering the latest films every Saturday night. Besides, what better way to enjoy a film than in a relaxing atmosphere with a pint of your favourite ale?"

Films due to be screened include Inception and The King's Speech.
