A number of Whitbread brands have introduced a variety of lower salt soups to their menus.

Brewers Fayre, Beefeater Grill and Table Table now offer customers a 'soup of the day' 17-strong range that meets Food Standards Agency 2012 targets.

Four new soups will be available each season using seasonal produce including smooth and chunky varieties. Options include a British vegetable broth; creamy spring vegetable; smoky tomato and Davidstow cheddar; and cream of British broccoli.

"Our development chefs have worked closely with TSC Foods to lower the salt content in these dishes," said

"We use pepper & herbs to help lift the flavor and British vegetables when they are at their best; this provides a better taste experience. We are pleased to be exceeding FSA 2012 guidelines whilst delivering a vast choice of flavors using fresh British produce."
