A 'cellar to glass' training scheme launched by brewing giant Molson Coors has given pubs a seven per cent sales boost, according to the company.
The Carling brewer launched the Pint Right Programme in March to help barstaff master the perfect serve.
Feedback from customers shows that 68 per cent of those taking part in the Pint Right programme felt it had a positive impact on their business.
Simon Cox, director of sales for the independent on trade at Molson Coors (UK), said: "Our customers have been telling us that they want activity and support that helps drive more customers through the doors, more often, buying more and bar staff training to help increase efficiency and profits.
"Our aim with the Pint Right Programme was to help our customers increase rate of sale in outlet with a focus on quality and getting it Pint Right in outlet."
Paul Nunny of Cask Marque added: "This programme was a large commitment by Molson Coors (UK) in terms of resources and support and we are very pleased that results prove that beer quality has a significant effect on beer sales and therefore retailing profitability.
"We hope other breweries and pub companies will follow their leadership."
