Makro cash and carry yesterday launched a Christmas Lock Down that will see prices frozen on festive essentials until 31 December.
Every day until Christmas Eve two "Advent calendar offers" will be available in store for one day only. The offers will be on a range of products from LCD TVs to mince pies. The deals can be seen in store or at www.makro.co.uk.
Deals on until the end of December include cases of Lanson Black Label Champagne at £99.99 (£16.67 per bottle), bacon and sausage rolls at £2.19 for 20 and 90 metres of catering foil for £8.89.
The deals are a result of a Makro survey that revealed caterers are most concerned about running out of turkey (32%), pigs in blankets (15%), mince pies (14%) and roast potatoes (12%).
The survey also found that the British public would rather tuck into Brussels sprouts and stuffing than mince pies this Christmas.
Turkey remains the nation's favourite festive food (74% of responses) followed by sprouts and stuffing (both 52%) and mince pies (42%).
"The survey revealed exactly what the British public want and still expect in the current market, and we have responded by offering a fantastic deal on the whole range of Christmas products," said Mark Copeland, director of customers at Makro.
