The Woolpack, the inn that was used as a setting for TV soap series Emmerdale, has reopened after a deal was agreed between Enterprise Inns and pub management company Winterhill Leisure.
The pub, located in the West Yorkshire village of Esholt, had been closed for three months amid fears that it might never reopen.
The deal was struck by Winterhill director and Esholt resident James Waddington. He said: "We have now negotiated a support package with Enterprise Inns and key suppliers, which will allow the pub to thrive.
"The Woolpack is a great character local within a thriving community and is just the kind of business we run for breweries all over the country. As one of Britain's best-loved pubs, its fame could also lead to potential additional tourist income."
Experienced licensees David and Laura Parry have been recruited to oversee an improvement in the catering side of the business, which is viewed as crucial to the pub's long-term future.
"We set about finding a really experienced management team that could oversee a dramatic improvement to the catering side of the business, an element that we saw as crucial to the long-term survival of the Woolpack."
