A pub has created its own Remembrance Day memorial by naming its bedrooms after local heroes who fought in the Second World War.
Greene King pub the John Barleycorn in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, has named its rooms after pilots who flew from the nearby airbase in the Battle of Britain.
Licensee Bernard Lee said: "The Battle of Britain played such a vital role in the Second World War and so much of it was planned and executed from Duxford.
"It only felt right that the pub closest should honour the pilots from the airbase and all that they did. After all they were regulars to the pub then and now our new regulars and visitors can remember them too".
Meanwhile managed chain Yates's is aiming to raise funds over the weekend for the Royal British Legion with a host of themed parties at its 65 outlets.
