Tim and Nick Cockburn, owners of the Prince Albert in Camden, London, are set to open their second gastropub in early December.

The pair have taken on a lease at the Adam and Eve in North West London's Mill Hill with Blue Star Pub Company, formerly Globe Pub Company, run by Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company.

The pub, which is referenced in the Doomsday Book as "The Eve", had been closed since March and the brothers have undertaken a complete refurbishment since moving in on 30 July.

The refurbishment includes creating a function and dining room on the first floor and relocating the kitchen and toilets.

The brothers have also been keen to seek the opinions of local people and had over 100 turn up, including their local MP, to an open evening at the building site in September.

They also sought views through its blog site (www.adamandevenw7.co.uk) and Twitter (@AdamAndEveNW7).

"The modern British menu will use ingredients sourced from farms in nearby Hertfordshire as well as employing a barter system for locals to trade home-grown produce for credits," said Nick Cockburn.

"As with the Prince Albert, fish will be delivered fresh from the markets in Brixham, Devon."

He added: "In setting up the new gastropub, we've taken advice picked out of a number of articles from the Morning Advertiser printed over the past couple of years."

The Adam and Eve is due to open on 1 December.
