Pub company Powder Train has opened its second joint venture with Marco Pierre White.

The Kings Arms, in Henley Common, near Fernhurst, West Sussex, will now trade as "Wheeler's of St James's at the Kings Arms".

The brand is a collaboration between White and hotelier Paul Clark, built around London fish restaurant Wheeler's.

The two have teamed up with Powder Train, formed by former Gale's executives David Butcher and Jack Bowyer, to roll out the Wheelers concept to pubs.

The brand has also been introduced at Powder Train's first co-venture with Pierre White, the Chequers Inn at Maresfield, East Sussex.

The King's Arms is run by manager Tom Downing, who spent five years at Brighton's Grand Hotel. Head chef Simon Lawrence previously worked at Pierre White's Yew Tree Inn, Newbury.

Downing said: "We're looking forward to proving to our locals that good honest food and supreme service don't have to come at an extortionate price.'
