The secret to a successful pub is to offer good beer served by a friendly landlord, a survey has revealed. Despite recent efforts to gentrify the boozer by offering coffee, cakes and wi-fi, pub company Greene King found a more traditional approach is what people wanted. Two thirds of those quizzed said a good choice of food and drinks was top of the pub-goers wish list, with just 1% listing wi-fi as important.
