Manchester brewer Joseph Holt has announced it is looking for new tenants at 15 of its pubs, mostly in the Greater Manchester area.

John Waterhouse, the brewer's tenancy area manager, said the group was looking for individuals "with drive, business acumen and the desire to build a business".

"In return, we're offering some great opportunities backed-up with accredited training and a comprehensive 'support package'," he added.

The letting campaign, covering more than half the group's tenanted estate, is being co-ordinated by the North West office of property agents Fleurets.

The pubs, which will be offered fully tied and with a 50 per cent split on machine income after rent and other charges, will be available on traditional brewery tenancies, with a term of three years. Tenants will be responsible for the repair and insuring of the internal element of the pub.

Tim Martin of Fleurets said guide rents were "competitive" and subject to three yearly reviews.

Martin said while the pub market was currently dominated by a desire to buy freeholds not everyone is able - or wants - to invest large sums of money in their business.

"Due to the relatively small in-goings, this is a great opportunity for someone who may have racked-up experience working in the licensed trade, to take their first step on the ladder to owning their own pub," he added.
