A pub regular picked up a cool £20,000 after getting the chance to answer questions from Chris Tarrant.

Craig Palfrey, a regular at the Three Horseshoes pub in Cardiff, was one of the lucky 10 finalists in Heineken's Who Wants to Be a Football Millionaire competition.

Throughout the summer customers who purchased Heineken brands in pubs and off licences were given the chance to call a dedicated hotline to answer a football quiz question.

Ten people were then selected to take part in show based on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, hosted by Chris Tarrant.

After winning the fastest finger first round Craig left the hot seat with £20,000.

He said: "Like everyone else I wish I had been able to go all the way and win a million but it was a fantastic experience and I'm planning to use a slice of my winnings to put a few drinks at the pub to give friends a chance to celebrate my good fortune."

Meanwhile Wigan football fan Simon Johnson followed him into the seat and won £150,000.
