The National Brewing Centre is to get the royal seal of approval when it is officially opened by Princess Anne.

The Princess Royal - who opened the museum in its previous incarnation as the Bass Museum in 1977 - will cut the ribbon on September 21.

Mike Stickland, of the National Brewery Centre, said: "This Royal visit will mean a lot to the people of Burton and all of the team here that have worked so hard to re-open the facilities and create 'The Brewing Experience'. This will certainly bring further awareness to this valuable heritage centre."

The refurbished centre was reopened in May following an MP led campaign. It was closed during the summer of 2008.
