A Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) member has released a book to help ale-lovers visiting Edinburgh find good pubs.
Edinburgh Pub Walks, by Bob Steel, is an illustrated pocket-sized guide that describes 25 town, country and coastal walks.
Good pubs are recommended for each walk detailed, as well as cultural attractions and public transport facilities.
Among the most renowned pubs mentioned are the Athletic Arms, Kenilworth Arms and Oxford Bar.
"The late great beer writer Michael Jackson once said there was nowhere he would rather pub crawl than Edinburgh, and in my opinion there isn't a more attractive city to take an urban walk," said Steel, who is a geographer and teacher.
"The city's topography and built environment offer continually changing points of interest, and there's always a good pub close to hand when you need one."
Edinburgh Pub Walks is £9.99 and £7.99 for CAMRA members.
