Pubs will be charged £100 plus VAT for screening selected Irish sports from August until the end of the year.

Broadcaster Premier Sports is currently offering Gaelic Football and Hurling Championships for free for UK Sky subscribers on channel 433. Airtricity League of Ireland (soccer) games are also available.

From the start of August, Premier Sports will charge £100 plus VAT for the channel until the end of 2010.

The Hurling Championship ends in the first week of September, Gaelic Football in the third week of September and the League of Ireland season finishes at the end of October.

Australian National Rugby League (NRL) matches are also included on the channel.

Premier Sports picked up the rights to broadcast the games in the UK after the collapse of Setanta in the UK last year.

Before it folded, the games were included in the enhanced Sky package for pubs that included extra English Premier League matches.

A Premier Sports spokesman said that customers will notice the picture is now "broadcast quality".

"We are pleased to announce that commercial customers will be able to subscribe to the end of 2010 for a special rate of £100 plus VAT, meaning they can bring customers the climax of the Gaelic Games and NRL season.

"Plans for future content and packages on offer next year will be released at a later date."
