Slug & Lettuce celebrates 25th birthday
Slug and Lettuce is celebrating 25 years on the high street by offering customers a range of drinks and dishes from the 80s.
The first Slug and Lettuce opened in 1985 in Stratford-upon-Avon by entrepreneur Hugh Corbett and since then it has grown to 81 sites — now under the control of Bay Restaurant Group.
The chain is offering 25% off all food on its 80s inspired menu, which includes Black Forest Gateau, Chicken Kiev, Prawn Cocktail and Butterscotch Angel Delight.
Drinks on offer include a Screwdriver and a Harvey Wallbanger as well as a celebratory ale brewed by Wells & Young's.
A series of 80s themed events kicked off on 1 May, culminating in a 80s Miami Beach Party on 29 May.
"We are now responsible for getting many parties started every year — we sell 350,711 Jäger bombs; delivering your weekly treat — 532,759 burgers sold every year; and fuelling those 'you never guess what happened next...'conversations on the girls' night out — 244,305 bottles of pinot sold a year."
