Contracts with Mitchells & Butlers, Punch Taverns and Adnams have helped boost trade to record levels at Purity Brewing Co.

Warwickshire-based Purity, whose beers include Mad Goose, Pure UBU and Pure Gold, has reported a 61% increase in sales on last year for the first half-year. It now supplies around 400 pubs.

It is on course to sell 2.2m pints and achieve a turnover of £2.1m for the year — up from £1.37m last year.

"I'm confident that we have the momentum to continue to grow and move strongly through the rest of the year," said Purity managing director Paul Halsey.

"Our success is attributed to a number of factors, including new contracts with the likes of Mitchells & Butlers, Punch Taverns, Adnams, which were signed last year but have come into effect this year.

"We've also benefited from increased penetration into the local free trade market.

"Purity is also recognised as a premium brand, which has a broad appeal amongst women, younger men, as well as the traditional ales drinkers."
