JD Wetherspoon is gearing up for opening at 7am across the estate on Wednesday 28 April by offering customers money-off vouchers on breakfast items redeemable before 10am.
The company has produced a special newspaper called The Morning Spoon which highlights the offers available at breakfast.
It's offering a traditional breakfast for £1.99, fresh fruit, yoghurt and coffee for 99p, a bacon roll and coffee for 99p and teacakes and coffee for 99p.
JD Wetherspoon will be launching its new menu on the same day as part of a fresh push on food. New items on the menu include smoked haddock and mozzarella fishcakes, sweet chilli noodles, moroccan meatballs with couscous, torn chicken, chorizo and spinach pasta, flatbreads and a 28-day-matured Britisah Isles 10oz rib-eye-steak.
The company is stressing the value it offers on coffee compared to Costa and Starbucks. The Morning Spoon states: "We felt sorry for those who were having to pay double for coffee and food at the likes of Costa and Starbucks, when, previously, we didn't open until 9am.
"We think that one of the real bonuses will be all of the comfy chair and space — so much more relaxed that the oh-so-rushed coffee shops; there are also lots of quiet corners for people to use the free Wi-fi."
Wetherspoon, which curently sells around £8,000 of food per pub per week, is also adding items to its gluten-free menu.
These include a chicken bhuna on its Thursday night Curry club menu and a gluten fre Bramley apple, pear and raspberry crumble.
The current edition of the in-pub publication Wetherspoon News reports that the company has taken steps to ensure it serves food on hotter plates. Wetherspoon has previously stated that opening all its pubs two hours earlier will be cost-neutral as staff are already at its pubs this early.
