AB InBev UK has outsourced the delivery of its packaged beer brands to Tradeteam, the logistics group owned by DHL, in a three-year deal.

In a statement Tradeteam said it would now be responsible for delivering packaged kegs, bottles and cases of AB InBev UK brands including Beck's, Budweiser and Stella Artois from AB InBev UK breweries in Magor (South Wales) and Samlesbury (Lancashire) to distribution centres and customers throughout the UK.

Tradeteam said it "anticipated" that more than 60 AB InBev UK staff would transfer to Tradeteam under TUPE. The group also said a number of new positions had been created at its Burton distribution centre and within DHL.

No job losses are likely as a result of the deal, AB InBev sources suggested.

Tradeteam's managing director Gavin Murdoch added: "We are delighted to be appointed AB InBev UK's preferred primary logistics provider.

"Our experience of AB InBev UK's secondary distribution puts us in a strong position to ensure our service excellence extends to the successful delivery of its products to the 'off trade'.

Pedro Mirant Borde, AB InBev UK's logistics director said: "We have been pleased with Tradeteam's commitment and dedication to the smooth running of our secondary operations.

"We are confident that Tradeteam will bring this same expertise and best practice to our primary logistics, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of our brands to the marketplace."
