United Biscuits is going nuts about the World Cup by running a range of promotions to help pubs boost snacks sales over the summer.
It will be running the 'are you a real fan' promotion in April across its McCoys crisps range to give fans a chance to win a host of top prizes.
Aimed at its target male audience the text based competition includes trips to World Cup host nation South Africa as well as football mad cities such as Barcelona and Milan.
And on top of the prizes McCoys will be trying to appeal to football fans with two new football themed flavours - Sausage Striker and Chicken Winger, to be launched next month.
Meanwhile people who opt for nuts as their choice of pub snack can also get in on the action.
Fans who buy KP Nuts will be invited to vote for their favourite football moment of all time to be in with a chance of winning thousands of prizes such as mini footballs, replica shirts and holidays.
Another online competition is being run with Jaffa Cakes. Fans who visit www.ilovejaffacakes.com can enter an instant win competition by shooting a football into a goal to win yet more prizes.
Nick Stuart, commercial manager of United Biscuits, said: "This summer provides a real opportunity for retailers.
"The last World Cup alone generated an increase of 34 per cent in savoury snacks, as groups of people gathered to watch the tournament."
He added: "The range of promotional packs offers retailers and publicans the opportunity to get the most of the uplift a major tournament creates to obtain extra sales and profits."
