Award-winning Ossett Brewery is opening its first Leeds pub the Hop at Granary Wharf development on 26 March.

The brewery already has 13 pubs in West Yorkshire but the Hop is a new concept based around local ales and live music.

A similar venue of the same name has already become a success in Wakefield.

The new pub is 2,500 square foot and will feature 10 hand pulls, continental lagers and a range of wines.

"Granary Wharf has a perfect blend of modern building design and historic Leeds architecture which includes the old station arches and the picturesque canal wharf," said spokesman James Lawson.

"We could think of no better relaxing environment to enjoy real ales and listen to locally sourced bands."

Ossett Brewery was founded in 1997 by ex-Tetley Leeds brewer Bob Lawson, who is now company chairman.
