Carlsberg is offering licensees the chance to upgrade their fonts for free as part of a quality drive.

Carlsberg's "font amnesty" will allow licensees to swap their old Carlsberg fonts for its "Superhero" font for free until the end of March.

The "Superhero" was launched in the on-trade two years ago and will see its 40,000th installation next month.

Research undertaken by Carlsberg showed that lager sold through branded, quality fonts has a 10% higher sale rate than those sold with Lowlines or T-bars.

Pubs which had branded fonts, branded glassware and received marketing support saw even greater success with a 14% increase in rate of sale.

"We are incredibly proud of our beer quality and want drinkers to enjoy a perfect pint of Carlsberg every time they order it," said director of customer marketing David Scott.

"So we are continuing to invest in the on-trade and quality by funding the "font amnesty".

He added: "This is the first piece of activity in a six month programme of trade support from Carlsberg UK, as it looks to ensure licensees have all the support they need to serve a perfect pint of probably the best lager in the world."

The amnesty will run until the end of March and all stockists who want to replace their old Carlsberg font should call 0845 601 3432.
