Licensee Karen Wells picked up a cheque for £1,000 and a two day break after winning Hall and Woodhouse pub of the year title.

Her pub the Chestnut Horse in Easton, Winchester, came out on top at the company's tenanted awards event.

Karen said "The team at The Chestnut are absolutely elated with the award and I don't doubt that it will be a great booster to get us through December.

We are a very young but committed team, winning an award like this reiterates to us all that the hard work is worth it and that they as individuals are being recognised for their success"
