Peach buys Richard Onslow pub in Cranleigh
Peach has acquired the freehold of the Richard Onslow at Cranleigh, Surrey — its third new site in as many weeks.
The new pub follows hard on the heels of the launch of the company's first city-centre pub, the Almanack, Leicester, and the James Figg at Thame, Oxfordshire last month.
The new sites brings Peach's total portfolio to 13 pubs, ending a "heavy few weeks" for the gastro operator headed by Hamish Stoddart and Lee Cash.
The James Figg, formerly known as the Abingdon Arms, will be Peach's first wet-led venture and the second outlet in Thame, where it already operates The Thatch.
"We've been working around the clock for the past few weeks and its only down to a great team effort to be able to pull all this off," said Stoddart.
The Richard Onslow is the first site to be opened in conjunction with Peach's new venture partner John Taylor.
He formerly ran Punch's well known pub, the Punch Tavern in Fleet Street, London.
The Richard Onslow will also benefit from the redevelopment of seven en suite letting bedrooms, which will be ready for use by the end of next year.
