Phipps NBC is ready to launch a new stout addition to its portfolio.
Ratliffe's Celebrated Stout is a 4.3% abv beer, which will be available on draught and in 500ml bottles from December this year.
The beer is the latest of Phipps' revived brews, arriving a year after the brewer relaunched its IPA.
As with its previous beer launches, the team at Phipps have gone back through the pre-war brewer's records as well as looking at the form the brew took in its final years.
The stout is described as being a creamy, full bodied, malty brew which is "satifyingly rich wth distinct caramel and coffee notes".
The combination of crystal and roasted malts give the stout its deep, dark colour and pronounced roasted flavour. "This is topped off with a thick appetising light tan head," explained Phipps' Quentin Neville.
"The stout is not overly bitter, the hop bittering it does possess is acquired from the careful use of traditional English hop varieties in the brewhouse."
