The pub immortalised by the BBC TV series Last of the Summer Wine has come on the market.

The 10-year private lease of the White Horse Inn at Jackson Bridge, West Yorkshire, is for sale off an asking price of £70,000.

Located in a prominent position in the centre of the village, the three-storey property has a 20-cover lounge, a 12-cover bar, a 12-cover dining area, a games room, beer garden and patio. There are five ensuite letting bedrooms, a small private breakfast room, and three-bedroom owner's accommodation.

The White Horse is forever linked to the popular TV series, which began in 1973 and is Britain's longest-running comedy programme, as filming was carried out here for many years. Many of the film crew and some of the cast have stayed at the pub over the years. As a result of its association with the programme, the business benefits from a varied customer base. It is well supported by the local community as well as drawing trade from tourists visiting the area.

The current owners have operated the pub for the last four years, and have worked hard to improve the internal and external areas.

The annual rent is £33,327, and the sale is being handled by Christie + Co.

Agent Martin Stansmore said: "This represents a fantastic lifestyle opportunity for new operators to acquire a charming business in a delightful and famous West Yorkshire village. We expect this unique opportunity to generate a high level of interest."
