Sharp's is claiming an industry first by listing the ingredients of its new range of seasonal beers on the side of branded pint glasses.

The Sharp's Seasonals quartet, which are four naturally-flavoured beers that are matched to each season, will be available for longer than traditional seasonal brews.

The beers have been created in collaboration with the Eden Project using unusual local ingredients from across Cornwall that match each of the four seasons, such as as ivy honey, ale cost, wild winter berries and green oak.

These ingredients, which will be listed on a set of branded pint glasses created for the new range, have been added to the beers to complement the malted barley, whole hop flowers and Sharp's own yeasts.

"We believe we've got the right mix of character, flavour and depth that not only traditional cask beer drinkers will enjoy but also have appeal for casual drinkers looking to satisfy an inquisitive appetite," said sales and marketing manager James Nicholls.

The first of the cask conditioned beers, Red Ale, will be available throughout the Autumn.

"Red Ale is brewed from an all-malt grist including amber malt for biscuit character and crystal rye for an intense red colour and depth of flavour," said Nicholls. "We are really proud of Red Ale's regional provenance and the quality of ingredients - that is why they are printed on the back of the glass. We want customers to know where the natural flavours they are enjoying come from, that we've made every effort to offer them a beer which they can truly trace to source."

Red Ale will be followed by Winter Berry, 6 Hop and Honey Spice, as the seasons change.
