A team from the George pub at Langwith, Lincolnshire, triumphed in the final of the annual Licensed Trade Charity golf tournament staged at Longcliffe Golf Club, Loughborough.
The four man pub team representing the East Midlands tamed a challenging course to take first prize in a tournament which started last May with eight regional heats across the country.
Brewer Wells & Young's provided strong sponsorship support in all eight heats and the finals day through its best-selling Bombardier ale brand.
Former licensee Ian Bennett of Yorkshire was the individual winner on the day followed by Andrew Garrod from the north east and John Walker of Yorkshire in third place.
The competition is expected to raise in excess of £8,000 for the LTC which was hailed as a "brilliant figure" by competition organiser, LTC past Governor and trustee, Ray Batty.
"The weather was perfect for the event which was played over one of the best courses in the East Midlands on a day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the players.
"This tournament is fast developing into one of the charity's best annual earners and we are determined to develop it yet further in the future," Batty said.
He paid tribute to the tournament's sponsors, Wells & Young's , for its steadfast support over the summer.
"Bombardier enjoyed a high profile at all the courses where the heats were played this summer culminating in a superb finals day.
"The competition is now in its thirteenth year and just keeps getting better and better," he added.
Wells & Young's marketing director Chris Lewis said the company was delighted to back such a high profile tournament.
"Bombardier represents everything that is positive about England and is distributed in golf clubs the length and breadth of the country.
"Its an ideal brand for clubs to stock and we are proud to sponsor the LTC to help raise awareness of this incredibly important charity," he said.
The winning team from the George comprised Ian Smith, Stuart Bishton, Andy Murdon and Dough Stafford.
Licensee George Wishart was present throughout the finals day to give encouragement to the pub team.
