David Sheehan, development manager for the Public Health Group South East, which is behind the project, said: "The Big Drink Debate is an exciting first step towards ensuring that the concerns of professionals and the public are addressed."
Gavin Partington, head of communications at the Wine and Sprit Trade Association, said: "The drinks industry is committed to ensuring alcohol is promoted and sold in a responsible manner. "We welcome the Big Drink Debate as an opportunity for public and professionals to come together and discuss important issues that affect both our business and the community."
Following the panel events a Big Drink Debate manifesto will be launched in December incorporating the results of research from across the region and the views and opinions of participants The manifesto will inform future alcohol priorities in the South East.
