North Yorkshire-based brewer Copper Dragon is to launch a new ale to honour the county's legendary cricketer Freddie Trueman.
Freddie Trueman Yorkshire Ale will be available in bottle and cask form and will hit the trade next February on the occasion of the late England fast bowler's birthday in February.
Copper Dragon plans to make the first 200 bottles signature editions and will be individually numbered and signed by head brewer Gordon Wilkinson.
"Freddie was a legendary Yorkshireman who spent many of his latter years in the Skipton area where the brewery is based and we are delighted that our newest ale will carry his name," said managing director Steve Taylor.
"It will be a refreshing and light golden ale that brings back memories of cricketing summers and we are sure that Freddie would be suitably impressed when the first bottles land at his tribute."
Copper Dragon, which moved onto a new £4.5m site last year, supplies 2,000 outlets across the UK and also runs a small estate of 10 tied pubs.
