Around 300 Greene King licensees are to be rewarded for their work with cask beer, with the launch of a new initiative called the Head Brewer's Club.
Benefits of membership include £100 to put towards Cask Marque accreditation, access to promotions on guest ales earlier than the core estate and the chance to get a beer brewed especially for the pub.
The company is also developing a Head Brewer's website, which will profile the members' pubs, and an application for iPhones that will allow consumers to find the venues.
It is hoped the formation of the club will help support both cask beer and British pubs, by highlighting the good work being done by the specially selected licensees.
Membership is based on volume sales and strict quality checks carried out by Greene King.
Other Greene King Pub Partners licensees can't apply to join directly, but can nominate themselves to be put forward for the vetting process. The company will also be asking for nominations for its regional and cellar service teams.
"Hearty congratulations to all the Pub Partners licensees who have earned their place in the Head Brewer's Club," said Greene King Brewing Company managing director Justin Adams.
"The club is a celebration of the best cask pubs, picked out for their commitment to quality and their passion for great beer. The Cask Ale Report highlights the opportunities cask beer gives to pubs and the Head Brewer's Club members are good examples of how best to use those opportunities — and are a credit to the trade."
