A new executive committee will take over the bulk of Federation of Licensed Victuallers Associations (FLVA) boss Tony Payne's workload when he steps down.
Payne will retire as chief executive at the end of the year with former Enterprise Inns regional manager for the north and north-east Martin Caffrey taking over field based work as operations director.
A new executive committee will take up the rest of his work. The committee will be headed by Enterprise lessee and FLVA president Dennis Griffiths of the Miners Rest in Barnsley and include Alan Jayne as Treasurer, Nigel Williams and past president Shaun Rennison. Payne will stay on as the FLVA's parliamentary advisor.
"I am delighted that we have completed the first phase of our restructuring and look forward to working alongside the newly expanded team," said Griffiths.
"The appointment of Martin Caffrey brings considerable experience and strength to the FLVA which will benefit our members in both their business operations and rental and property negotiations.
"The agreement to retain Tony Payne as our Parliamentary advisor ensures that the association can expand this important element of its work. Martin Caffrey joins the association at an important and busy time and in his new role has already commenced assisting members."
The departing Payne added: "Current discussions within our industry sector offer a major opportunity to remedy the imbalances and unfairness within the tie, and I look forward to putting maximum time and effort into this process during my final months as chief executive."
