Brewer Marston's has come up with a cheeky beer to celebrate England reclaiming the Ashes.
Victorious Bitter - a tongue in cheek swipe at the Australian cricket team's official beer Victoria Bitter - is available from Monday to all Marston's stockists.
Des Gallagher, Marston's marketing manager, said: "Victorious Bitter is our way of congratulating the England team and fans on the occasion of our win over the old foe - the Australians.
"We believe that, even though it was a close call, like our ales, true class won in the end."
The naming of the 3.6 per cent ABV brew continues along the same vein as the summer advertisement campaign by Marston's which featured slogans such as 'England has history, Australia has previous', 'We're English, we brew beer. You're Australian, you serve it' and 'Britannia Rules…Matilda Waltzes'.
More than a million extra pints of Marston's Pedigree- the official beer of the England cricket team - were sold during the Ashes series, which saw England beat the Australians 2-1.
