Pubco Admiral Taverns has handed out the trophies to the winners of its annual darts and pool championships.

Hundreds of teams across the Admiral estate took part culminating with 32 teams competing in this year's finals.

In the pool competition two teams from the Aladdin's Lamp in Birmingham made it through with the pub's first team coming out on top for the third consecutive year.

And in the darts competition the Halfway House from Liverpool triumphed over Barnsley's Flying Dutchmen.

The winning pubs won a trophy plus a cash prize of £1,000. They will each also receive a visit from a professional in the respective sports.

Paul Holmes, Admiral Taverns marketing and communications manager, said: "This is the fourth year in a row that we've held our pool and darts championship and its popularity continues to grow.

"It's good to know many of our landlords are using pool and darts teams as a way of maintaining regular business and building relations within their communities. We try to use this annual event to raise awareness of this message, encouraging others to do the same.

"We're already planning next year's championship, which will hopefully be even bigger and better."
