Licensees have been reminded they must clampdown on troublemakers, after a music bar was stripped of its premises licence following evidence of drug use and disorder.

The Tin Pan Alley Bar (TPA), on Denmark Street, Soho, had been given repeated warnings about licence breaches, and recommendations on how it could improve, according to Camden Council.

Evidence of drug use and drunks on the premises, and children being left unsupervised were found.

But despite an action plan devised by the council, the situation did not improve, based on evidence from follow-up visits.

Cllr Chris Knight, Camden Council's executive member for environment, said: "This decision sends out a clear warning to licensees that they must follow the conditions of their licence or face the consequences.

"Camden Council will not hesitate to revoke the licence of any premises where illegal activity is taking place, or which is the cause of violent disorder."

The TPA has 21 days to appeal the decision, which was made on May 28.
