Wholesaler Booker has developed a wine range exclusively for the on-trade.
The seven wines — three whites, three reds and a rosé — have been carefully created using best-selling grape varieties, such as Pinot Grigio and Merlot, from key wine-producing countries, according to Booker. All wines are available in both 75cl and 25cl bottles with screwcaps.
The range includes a French red and a white, wholesaling at £16.59 for six 75cl bottles, with a suggested retail price of £9 per bottle.
The remaining five varietal wines wholesale at £19.29 for six 75cl bottles, with a suggested selling price of £10 per bottle. These include a Semillon Chardonnay and a Shiraz Cabernet from Australia; an Italian Pinot Grigio, a Chilean Merlot and a Californian Zinfandel Rosé.
"Booker is committed to increasing choice, lowering prices and improving our service," said catering development director Ron Hickey.
The new range will also be supported by a free PoS pack, including wine lists and tent cards to boost consumer awareness.
