Licensees are being urged to take advantage of a new branded schooner for Newcastle Brown Ale.
Scottish & Newcastle's joint venture brand management company Jygsaw re-introduced the schooner last year and is now urging hosts to stock the glasses.
It is offering point of sale kits, which include drip mats, back bar display card, A2 posters, tent cards and schooner glasses.
Michael Hardy, trading director at Jygsaw Brands, said: "The on-trade environment has
always needed to offer a premium drinking occasion this initiative will ensure that the serving of Newcastle Brown Ale returns to a premium experience.
"The perfect serve of Newcastle Brown Ale has always been to drink from a glass, which is topped up by the bottle, but with Newcastle Brown Ale branded glasses long disappearing from the back bars of outlets — a half-pint glass was the choice for many licensees.
"The new branded schooner glass ensures that Newcastle Brown Ale is served perfectly keeping it colder, livelier, for longer and is a more visibly appealing. It gives the consumer a premium drinking experience."
