JD Wetherspoon is believed to have issued proceedings against the property agent Paul Ferrari, following the legal victory over the agents Van de Berg.
In his verdict of 31 March, Judge Peter Smith referred to five freehold properties that Van de Berg offered to Ferrari's company rather than to JDW as "the Ferrari Five."
Three of these properties were subsequently sold to JDW, giving Ferrari profits of around £1.36m.
The two actions brought by JDW in the Van de Berg case involved 21 property deals where the pubco believed it had the strongest evidence. But there are 40 other cases and it is understood that JDW may soon pursue legal action against third parties who were involved in these deals.
n In an interview with MA this week, JDW chairman Tim Martin says he wants to carry on for another 20 years. He also reveals for the first time that he underwent treatment for prostate cancer two and a half years ago.
The Morning Advertiser had an exclusive interview with Tim Martin in this week's magazine.
