The Proud of Pubs message is going on tour thanks to actor, publican and brewer Neil Morrissey in the shape of a major new award dedicated to the English pub.
Neil recently picked up the 'outstanding contribution to tourism' award on behalf of all English pubs at the travel industry's Oscars - and now he has come up with the idea of sending it around the country to the very best pubs in England.
Under the Proud of Pubs campaign we are calling on publicans in England to tell us why you are proud of your pub and why you think you should host the award - and you could host the trophy for a week as part of a year-long relay around the country.
Neil told The Publican: "It was an honour to receive the award on behalf of all English pubs. But it seems only fair that the award should travel around the country and that we acknowledge the hard work that everyone has put into gaining this achievement."
Neil and The Publican team will pick out the winning entrants - with valuable prestige and a great PR opportunity for the pubs involved. Entries will also help us to build a picture of the individual stories and situations behind the very best pubs in England.
The award was presented to pubs at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in York last month.
To register your interest in the award email news@thepublican.com or call 020 7955 3710 and tell us why you are proud of your pub today.
