The Scottish Bar Personality of the Year has been unveiled at this BII Scotland Annual Dinner Dance.

Kayleigh Boyd, 19, from the GI group-owned Bothy Pub in Perth, claimed the title at the event which took place at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow last Sunday.

Kayleigh said: "I love my job and I'm so chuffed to have won this award. Everyone I know is really proud of me. I've been with G1 Group for two-and-a-half years, have worked my way up to bar supervisor and I'd like to be a manager in the future.

Edinburgh-based Lorimer Training sponsored the 2009 competition and director Morris Lorimer, also the 2008 BII Professional Trainer of the Year, managed the judging process.

He said: "Kayleigh took to bar work like a duck to water and she has come a long way since first working in a pub collecting glasses at the age of 15. She is enthusiastic and fully committed to a career in the licensed trade and I'm sure we'll be seeing lots more of her in the future."

The Bar Personality of the Year competition has been running for 18 years and is a hallmark of capability, professionalism and excellence in customer service.
