Applications for the search to find the industry's best operations managers for 2009 close at the end of April.
The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) awards are now in their 12th year and seek to celebrate those operations managers who have made their pubs and bars the best in the business.
There will be two awards — one for Area Manager of the Year for managed houses and and Business Development Manager for tenanted and leased pubs.
Finalists will be shaodwed for a day by a senior industry executive before attending a three-day MasterClass at Billesley Manor, Alcester.
"We already have more than 30 nominees — aspiring to be known as the best BDM or area manager," said ALMR chief executive Nick Bish.
"As I never tire of saying, this competition is much more than just a snapshot of individual talent.
"The best 20 get one-to-one mentoring and expand their business and personal skills at the MasterClass led by Ashridge Consulting.
"We believe that it's really worthwhile for the individuals — and it's indisputable about the importance of the role, so it's good for their companies too. ALMR also thinks it's good for our industry — the politicians and other observers will see that we are developing this crucial level of management and should applaud.
"So, if you have great operations managers, demonstrate to them your confidence in them and put them forward - do it now, and benefit from this great initiative."
The winners will be announced at the ALMR Autumn event on 24 September 2009.
Nominations can now be made online at the Awards dedicated website — www.almropsawards.org.uk or by telephone on 020 8579 2080.
