Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) is to serve authentic Irish 'afters' in its O'Neill's pubs after agreeing a supply deal with Silver Pail Dairy, Ireland's largest dairy dessert manufacturer.

Fermoy-based Silver Pail has its bourbon vanilla and double chocolate ice cream flavours featured on the new menu at all 64 Neill's pubs from this month.

As well as single bowls of each flavour, both are also offered as a classic ice cream sundae, while bourbon vanilla is served to accompany hot Irish bramley apple tart.

M&B works with Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, to identify food and drinks for O'Neill's menu. Through its links with Bord Bia, Silver Pail has also secured a deal to supply low fat frozen yoghurt to the Pizza Express chain.

Valerie Carroll from Silver Pail said: "We are absolutely thrilled that our high quality dairy products have been selected by two of the UK's leading foodservice operators.

"It is a testimony to not only our team in Fermoy but also to our suppliers who continually strive to meet our exacting standards."
