Whitbread pub boss to be grilled at Arena Face 2 Face
The man spearheading the revamp of Whitbread's pub operation is the subject of the annual Arena Face to Face interview.
Patrick Dempsey, managing director of Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants, will be interviewed by ITN journalist Alastair Stewart OBE at the lunchtime event, taking place on Friday April 3 at the Dorchester Hotel, London.
This year is the ninth that Stewart has put a leading figure from the hospitality sectior under the spotlight.
Since his career began in 1980, Patrick Dempsey has worked in some of the industry's big name companies including Forte Hotels, Compass Group and MacDonald Hotels, as well as Whitbread.
The past year has seen the launch of the Table Table and Taybarns pub restaurant businesses, trading in the group alongside Beefeater and Brewer's Fayre.
Dempsey has also been the driving force in establishing Premier Inn as the UK's largest hotel chain and has also taken the brand into international markets.
Last month, he was appointed executive director and joined the Whitbread PLC main board.
