The Revolution vodka bar chain has upped the stakes in the discounted food battle — by offering free pizzas between 3pm and 5pm in the afternoon.
The 57-strong chain, which is owned by private equity firm Alchemy Partners, has launched a new Italian-themed menu, featuring nine types of stone-baked pizzas.
The chain is offering a free margheritta for each customer between 3pm and 5pm who meet unusual criteria, many with an Italian bias.
On Mondays, under an offer called Mamma Mia, pregnant women are eligible (show staff your bump, baby scan or doctor's note); on Tuesdays, Italians are eligible if they show their ID or passport; on Wednesdays, members of the University Society eating in groups of at least four can eat free; on Thursdays, those who own an Italian car can eat free by showing their keys; on Fridays, Vespa owners can show their keys to eat free; and Sundays are left open to sports team members; on Saturdays, anyone who produces an Italian branded shopping receipt of £40 or more gets a free pizza.
On Sundays, the offer widens out to groups of four or more free who are membes of a sports team — customers need to produce dirty kit or team cards.
