Welsh brewer Brains has announced the return of cask ale Bread of Heaven to celebrate the start of the Six Nations rugby tournament.

The specialist ale, was originally crafted to celebrate Brains' sponsorship of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and will be available in Welsh pubs, bars and clubs. It is the fifth year the ale has been brewed to coincide with the tournament.

It is described as having a distinctive red colour, a rich hop aroma, balanced by a moreish fruit finish, and is one of Brains' best selling speciality beers.

Its rugby ball-shaped pump clip features the WRU Official Sponsor logo and the words "feed me till I want no more" from the Welsh hymn, "Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer".

Richard Davies, sales and marketing director at Brains is confident that sales will prove equally strong this Six Nations.

"In the five years we've been sponsoring the WRU, we've discovered that drinking a pint of Brains is akin to wearing a Welsh rugby shirt in that ardent Welsh rugby fans use it as another way of showing their support for the team. With the Brains name on the shirt our beers have become indelibly linked with Welsh Rugby - so much so that it simply wouldn't be match day without Brains," he said.
