Cornish brewer St Austell opened its new distribution centre today, which will supply over 2,000 pubs, clubs and hotels in the region.

The purpose built warehouse and distribution centre, in St Columb Major Business Park, will replace existing depots in Bude, Newquay, Redruth and St Austell and double the floor space currently available. The company's HQ will remain at the Brewery site.

The Cornwall Distribution Centre will also help St Austell in its bid to become one of the greenest brewers by cutting down on road miles through the use of a computerised route planning system.

"We're very pleased with the modern and spacious new facilities and it was exciting to see the first delivery drays rolling out of the new centre this morning," said St Austell managing director James Staughton.

"This is a significant investment by the Brewery and something which will help us serve our customers more effectively and efficiently and ensure we maintain our position as the best wholesale supplier in the region."
