Tim 'The Teapot' Jones triumphed in the final at the inaugural Publican-backed John Smith's People's Darts championship.
The player, representing the Rose and Crown pub in Briton Ferry, South Wales, beat the North East's Tommy 'Magic' Dove 3-1 yesterday.
The final was played on the main stage at the Lakeside, in Frimley Green, Surrey, before the BDO World Championship final.
After picking up the trophy and a cheque for £15,000 for his chosen charity Arthritis Care, Tim said: "It was just unbelievable to win it, a fantastic experience.
"I absolutely loved it playing up there on the stage in front of everyone."
Tim, whose victory included a maximum 180, also scooped £1,000 of equipment for the Rose and Crown plus the chance to compete in three professional BDO tournaments.
And to cap off the day his mentor Ted Hankey won the main event, beating Tony O'Shea 7-6 in a classic final.
Tommy took home £2,500 for autism charity Daisy Chain.
This year is the first time the People's Darts championship has taken place and more than 3,000 pubs put competitors forward for regional events..
