Constellation Europe has announced major changes to its structure, with two senior members of the team appointed to new positions.

The UK and European sales organisation will now fall under a single leadership. Constellation claims this will allow the company to maximise its marketing resources across the marketplace.

To help steer through the re-structure, John Mills has been appointed senior vice president of European sales and given responsibility for wine sales in the UK and mainland Europe, including Ireland. Mills, formerly managing director of the independently operated Gaymer Cider Company, has worked for Constellation Europe and its wholesaling arm Matthew Clark for 15 years, including five years running wine teams at Matthew Clark.

Constellation Europe president Troy Christensen said: "John has done a tremendous job turning around our Gaymer Cider business and I am confident he can apply his considerable experience and capability to unify our entire selling organisation."

Peter Spencer replaces Mills as managing director of Gaymer Cider Company. For the past four years, Spencer has led Constellation's UK wine team as senior vice president of UK sales.
