A brewer who makes her beer in her 89-year-old mother-in-law's garage is set to star in a new TV show.

Patsy Slevin, of Prospect Brewery in Wigan, will feature in the BBC 2 series Oz and James Drink To Britain on January 13.

She was visited by the show's hosts Oz Clarke and James May for filming last July.

She said: "I am thrilled to be featured. It was just a case of being in the right place at the right time as we met Oz Clarke at the SIBA conference in York.

"We had a lovely day filming with them and they were both very charming. I am quite nervous about it now because it was filmed in July and I had almost forgotten about it."

Prospect, which is celebrating its second anniversary, produces 3,000 pints a week and supplies more than 50 pubs and three beer wholesalers

In 2008, the business won bronze medals at both the Wigan Beer Festival and The Clarets Beer Festival. It also reached the last 15 nationally of the Most Promising New Business award run by the Federation of Small Businesses.
