Admiral Taverns puts a further 22 pubs on the market
Admiral Taverns has confirmed that it has put a further 22 of its pubs on the market.
The new properties are in addition to the 200 freehold sites that were put up for sale by the pubco in November.
Property agent Fleurets said it has been instructed to market 20 new sites belonging to the pubco, while Paramount Properties has 22 new Admiral properties on its books.
Nick Germani, an associate at Fleurets' North office, said that the new properties, which range in price from £50,000- £750,000, "would provoke serious interest".
"We have had fantastic recent success with sales for Admiral Taverns, with nine sites sold and a further nine sites under offer in the last eight weeks alone," he said.
However he confirmed that it was likely that a number of the sites would not continue to be traded as pubs.
"In our opinion, these sites offer a wide range of use," he said, "with interested parties already emerging, ranging from those looking to keep the properties licensed, to care home companies and even recently, those looking to create a place of worship".
Those on the market include the Hollins Inn in Walsden, Lancashire; the Kings Arms in Leeds, West Yorkshire; the Dragon, in Brighton, East Sussex and the historic Royal Britannia in Ilfracombe, Devon, which was once visited by King Edward VII.
Locals to the pub are already concerned about its future. Kate Helyer, community editor on the North Devon Journal said: "A lot of people will be very interested to find out what happens to this local landmark."
The latest cluster of Admiral Taverns sites to hit market comes a week after Admiral confirmed it had sold off its entire estate of Scottish pubs - 27 sites - to the Iona Pub Partnership.
The privately-owned pub group has around 2,300 pubs spread across England and Wales.
