Poland gets pub's support for Euro 2008
With the home nations failing to make it to Euro 2008 a pub in west London has decided to throw its support behind Poland.
Last Friday The Belvedere, in Acton, played host to a 10ft by 10ft section of the Polish flag which is currently touring the country.
Supporters of Poland's national football team have been signing the flag in support of the side ahead of the tournament.
Andy Eldridge, manager of The Belvedere - which has a large Polish customer base - said: "The pub was busy with its usual Friday night customers, most of whom signed the flag for Poland.
"Our customers are really looking forward to the tournament. We have big screens set up for the matches and we're looking forward to welcoming large crowds for each game. Of course I'm supporting Poland all the way."
A total of 18 sections of the flag are making their way around various European cities. It will all become reunited and presented to the national team prior to their friendly against Denmark on June 1.
The Great Flag Event is the brainchild of Polish beer, Tyskie. It has already been signed by Mayor of London Boris Johnson and heavyweight boxer Danny Williams.
